The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons[edit]

Biologist OoS sprite.png

In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, the biologist lives in a secluded area in the southeast corner of Horon Village. At first, he is unable to read due to his lamp being unlit. If Link lights it, he thanks him and gives him a Cuccodex, starting the game's trade sequence. If spoken to afterwards, he will share some information about creatures he has read about to Link, such as about monsters or the three animal companions. The advice he gives is as follows:

  • My books tell me a total of four golden beasts will appear in a particular place in a particular season...
  • My books tell me a fellow named Ricky can jump small holes and cliffs in just a single bound.
  • My books tell me a fellow named Ricky packs a powerful punch that unleashes twisters when charged up.
  • My books tell me a fellow named Dimitri eats almost anything, even monsters.
  • My books tell me a fellow named Dimitri is a strong swimmer, who can swim even upstream against powerful currents.
  • My books tell me a fellow named Dimitri can be picked up, carried and even thrown about.
  • My books tell me a fellow named Moosh can float in midair for short periods of time. They call that hovering.
  • My books tell me a fellow named Moosh can also save energy while floating to hit the ground with great force!
  • My books tell me you must use a shield to knock back the seed shot by a Deku Scrub in order to defeat it.
  • My books tell me of a branch of Deku Scrubs that engages in trade. They're called Business Scrubs.
  • My books tell me there is a beast called a Whisp that jinxes you when you touch it. You won't be able to draw your sword!
  • My books tell me there have been sightings of a Deku Scrub that loves music.
  • My books tell me there is a beast that eats shields.

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap[edit]

Dr Left TMC sprite.png

In The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, Dr. Left lives in Hyrule Town, where he researches the Minish and keeps his door locked so as to not be disturbed. He is the only human to refer to the Minish by their proper name instead of as "Picori," and is depicted as gruff and somewhat absent-minded. He sometimes notes that he feels as if the Minish were right with him, unaware that there are indeed Town Minish in his home. Dr. Left's main role in the game is having forgotten he has a long-overdue library book, Legend of the Picori, which has gotten lost in his house. After Link locates and returns the book to the Royal Hyrule Library, he will thank him and tell him that his research indicates the Minish came from another world through a portal that only opens once every century.
