History[edit]

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening[edit]

Giant Ghini LA sprite.png

In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, a Giant Ghini comes from one of the graves in the Graveyard, following Link slowly after spawning. It does not flash when damaged and takes a large amount of damage, but if defeated, it drops a fairy.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages[edit]

Giant Ghini OoA sprite.png

In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, a Giant Ghini appears as the miniboss of the Spirit's Grave, uncharacteristically having two eyes and somewhat resembling the friendly ghost from Link's Awakening. It attacks with three tiny respawning copies of itself called Bunshin, which slow Link down so the Giant Ghini can charge at him. Sometimes, it will charge at him regardless if he is close enough. After enough hits, the Giant Ghini explodes and Link can continue to the Power Bracelet. The boss of the dungeon, Pumpkin Head, has a similar-looking spirit inside his body, implying a connection.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, twelve Giant Ghinis appear at the Swamp, flying back-and-forth in a swarm over Dampe's house. Pressing four nearby switches lights torches around the house, defeating them. Four more appear shortly after and are individually defeated in the same way, though once all the torches are lit, the Big Poe arrives.
