Maku Tree, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

The Maku Tree is an important character in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, being a large tree who watches over Nayru from a grove north of eastern Lynna City. Due to Veran's meddling in the past, the Maku Tree disappears due to Pig Warriors killing her as a sapling. After Link goes back in time and saves her, she falls in love with him. Four centuries later in the present, she still loves him, but Veran's damage to the timestream has left her with memory loss, thinking that Link proposed to her and forgetting how Veran can be defeated. She gives Link the Seed Satchel with Ember Seeds to find the eight Essences of Time needed to get her memory and power back. The more essences gained causes Gasha Seeds and Fairy Fountains to appear on her branches, and once Link has them all, the present Maku Tree can create the Huge Maku Seed allowing Link to access the Black Tower Turret.

At the end of an unlinked game, she is shown becoming sad when Impa pats Link on the back so hard that she accidentally knocks him down. In a linked game, she rescues Link and Princess Zelda from the crumbling Room of Rites, then gets a worried look when the princess kisses him.
