Variant of Freezard

Mini Freezards are small ice sculpture creatures that slide along the ground. Unlike full-sized Freezards, they lack icy breath. When attacked, they ricochet erratically around the room - and potentially into each other - until they have lost enough energy to slow back down. Repeated attacks eventually destroy them.

History[edit]

The Legend of Zelda series[edit]

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Mini Freezards are primarily found in Snowpeak Mansion alongside their larger counterparts, and they also appear in certain dig caverns and the Cave of Ordeals. They wander a small area, homing in on Link if he approaches, and freeze him on contact. Strong attacks such as the Ball & Chain can destroy them instantly. They can be found out in the open, though a collection of them also forms when a Freezard is shattered. Rings of Mini Freezards are also spawned by Blizzeta in her first phase.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Mini Freezards are simply called Freezards due to the larger versions being absent. They appear primarily in the Snow Realm, especially the Snow Temple. They act primarily the same as before, though the spikes on top visibly chip away the more they take damage. Using a Boomerang to hit one with a torch's flame melts it, revealing an Octorok inside (with the snout forming the Freezard's "eye"); this may be a nod to the Octoroks' absence in Twilight Princess despite being a series regular.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, Mini Freezards appear in the Ice Cavern, where they now deal standard damage rather than freezing. Along with the standard following behavior, most stay in one place, occasionally wiggling, but a few are automatically ricocheting between two points without slowing down.
