'''Dragon Roost Island''' is a large, volcanic island featured in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker]]''. It is the home of the bird-like [[Rito]] tribe, who worship [[Valoo]], a large dragon who lives on top of the island's landmark [[Dragon Roost Mountain|mountain]]. From the [[Great Sea]], Dragon Roost Island's grid square coordinates are B6.

Being a volcanic area, Dragon Roost Island has only a few sources of water and little vegetation besides the [[Bomb Flower]]s, although these can grow in harsh environments. The main settlement of the Rito tribe is inside a cave found at the base of the island. From there, the Rito run a nearby [[Mail Center]], in which they serve as the main postal service of the Great Sea. Behind the Rito's settlement is a path leading to the first dungeon, [[Dragon Roost Cavern]]. Much later on, [[Link]] can access another dungeon, the [[Wind Shrine]], which is dedicated to the wind gods [[Cyclos]] and [[Zephos]].

== Treasure Chests ==
There are three [[treasure chest]]s located on Dragon Roost Island. Each of them contain a valuable Rupee.

* Near the Wind Shrine, there is a boulder with a hole hidden beneath it. By going down the hole, Link goes into a [[Secret Cave]]. By defeating every enemy there, he can access a Treasure Chest containing a Purple Rupee, worth 50 Rupees.
* With the [[Deku Leaf]], Link can fly around the back of Dragon Roost Island to find a Treasure Chest containing an Orange Rupee, worth 100 Rupees.
* A boulder, surrounded by Bomb Flowers, is high up the side of Dragon Roost Mountain, and there is a Treasure Chest on top of it. In order to reach the Treasure Chest, Link must detonate the Bomb Flowers by either firing an [[Arrow]] at one or by using a [[Hyoi Pear]] to control a [[Seagull]] into touching a Bomb Flower. Either way, this causes a chain reaction in which the boulder is blown up by the Bomb Flowers. As a result, the Treasure Chest falls to the ground, and Link can open it to obtain a Silver Rupee, worth 200 Rupees.

==Other appearances==
In the [[Super Smash Bros. (series)|''Super Smash Bros.'' series]], the musical theme for Dragon Roost Island is one of the songs featured on the [[Pirate Ship]] stage.

In ''[[Hyrule Warriors Legends]]'' and ''[[Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition]]'', instead of being a standalone area, Dragon Roost Island is a [[keep]] within the [[Forsaken Fortress]] stage.

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild]]'', parts of Dragon Roost Island's musical theme are incorporated into both the day and night theme for [[Rito Village]].
