Gēru are humanoid lizard enemies in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. They can use a variety of weapons and are extremely strong, being the strongest enemies found outside palaces. Additionally, they are highly adept of using shields, additionally making it difficult to score hits against them. Gēru are found across the eastern continent, becoming more frequent in areas closer to the end of the game. Their persistence in attacking Link, deliberate building of obstacles to attack him from, being shown to ransack towns, and only being found outside of palaces suggests they are followers of Ganon.

Orange Gēru are the weakest type and wield tridents they use to quickly jab at Link from high and low, making them effectively a tougher version of red Molblins. Link can block these attacks with his own Magical Shield. One of this type kidnapped a child from the Mountain Town of Darunia and imprisoned him on Maze Island.
Orange Gēru are the weakest type and wield tridents they use to quickly jab at Link from high and low. However, Link can block these attacks with his own Magical Shield. One of this type kidnapped a child from the Mountain Town of Darunia and imprisoned him on Maze Island. Red Gēru instead try to club him with a mace, which can deal a full unit of damage even after Link has gained all health upgrades. This cannot be blocked unless Link uses the Reflect magic. In certain areas, hordes of red Gēru hide behind tall wooden walls they have set up in narrow valleys and throw rocks at him from a high vantage. Due to their position, they can only be defeated with the Thunder magic, which is gained later. Blue Gēru are the most dangerous type and are found almost exclusively in the Valley of Death and the graveyard immediately outside of it, trying to keep Link from reaching the Great Palace. They act much like the walking red ones, but instead throw an infinite amount of maces in a straight line forward.

Red Gēru are first found in trios, hiding behind tall wooden walls they have set up in narrow valleys to throw rocks at Link from a high vantage. Due to their position, they can only be defeated with the Thunder magic, which is gained later. On foot, red ones instead try to club him with a mace, which can deal a full unit of damage even after Link has gained all health upgrades. This cannot be blocked unless Link uses the Reflect magic. Blue Gēru are the most dangerous type and are found almost exclusively in the Valley of Death and the graveyard immediately outside of it, trying to keep Link from reaching the Great Palace. They act much like the walking red ones, but instead throw an infinite amount of maces in a straight line forward. Walking red and blue Gēru act essentially as tougher versions of the orange and red Dairas, respectively.
