In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time]]'', the Great Moblin, originally simply identified as as an especially large Moblin or as a '''Monblin''', appears during the future in the narrow path of the [[Sacred Grove|Sacred Forest Meadow]] leading to the [[Forest Temple]], after his smaller kin in the maze portion. Like the other Moblins, he cannot be targeted, and thus [[Navi]] does not have a description for him. He wields a giant club which he slams down, causing shockwaves to travel down the path at [[Link]]. He can slam down the center or along either side. By dodging his attacks, Link can get up close and attack him directly. As the Great Moblin cannot turn, darting behind him renders him helpless. Additionally, he can be stunned by both [[Deku Nut]]s and the [[Hookshot]]. Once the [[Fairy Bow]] is obtained, he can be attacked with [[arrow]]s from far away. After he is attacked enough, he falls on his back and disappears, leaving behind fifteen to twenty [[Rupee]]s. He returns whenever the area is left and reentered, and can attack from either end of the path depending on Link's entry point.

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest|Master Quest]]'', the Great Moblin makes another appearance in a much wider room in the [[Spirit Temple]]. In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D|Ocarina of Time 3D]]'', his model has gone through the same improvements as the normal Moblins, his armor has been made a brighter blue, and he now falls into a sitting position when defeated. Additionally, a short cutscene of him laughing is added the first time he sees Link.

In both ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons]]'' and ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages]]'', the Great Moblin is now depicted as one of the pig-like Moblins alternatively called [[Boarblin|Pig Warrior]]s, which are shown to work for him. In the former game, he operates out of the [[Great Moblin's Keep|Moblin's Keep]] directly west of [[Sunken City]]. When Link first passes by, the Great Moblin demands a toll before immediately firing large [[bomb]]s from [[cannon]]s at him. Once Link has gained access to the keep via the [[flippers]], the Great Moblin engages in battle with him. When fighting, the Great Moblin moves back and forth atop a high ledge and tosses bombs down at Link. To damage him, Link must use the [[Power Bracelet]] to lift the bombs and throw them back, catching the Great Moblin in the explosion. After each hit, he moves faster. Eventually, he says he could only be beaten if he were to drop one of his bombs by mistake, so the player needs to time the throw to explode a bomb while he is holding one. Once this is done, he accidentally drops the bomb on his stockpile, causing it to begin detonating and destroying the fortress. The now-crownless Great Moblin then announces he will get his revenge before leaving with two minions.

Later, the Great Moblin and his two minions can be found in a previously vacant house in Sunken City, slowly and dejectedly rebuilding their bomb supply. By using an [[Ember Seed]], Link can alight the bombs and force them to start over. If he does this three times, the Great Moblin will knock him out and leave him in the house before the bombs explode, causing an instant [[Game Over]].

In a Linked Game after Link completes [[Snake's Remains]], the Great Moblin and some Pig Warriors can be found harassing [[Princess Zelda]] in [[North Horon]], demanding she give him her valuables. After Link defeats his minions, the Great Moblin leaves.

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages]]'', the Great Moblin is found in another keep in [[Rolling Ridge]], this time called the [[Great Moblin's Keep]]. He steals the [[Bomb Flower]]s from the local [[Goron]]s and prevents them from growing more in order to sell his own bombs. Once Link confronts him in the keep, a battle commences. He now stands still atop a high ledge while throwing his bombs, and two orange Pig Warriors on higher ledges in the upper corners of the room assist him by throwing normal-sized bombs that explode on impact. When Link tries to throw a bomb back, the Great Moblin will catch and return it, so he needs to time his throws to when the bomb is about to explode. After six hits, the stockpile of Bomb Flowers explodes, destroying the fortress, and the crownless Great Moblin flees with his two helpers.
