While the English TWW indeed calls this "Skull Hammer," the JP script as well as all languages of HWL/HWDE simply call it "Hammer." Thoughts? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 01:56, 26 October 2020 (MDT)

:I'd still keep it separate from article on generic Hammers because the role is clearly different. Results May Vary (talk) 16:33, 26 October 2020 (MDT)
::Seems a similar role to Phantom Hourglass's hammer (which makes sense, but it had a generic design). Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:49, 26 October 2020 (MDT)
:::Didn't realize this already had an article, but yes, the fact that the Hyrule Warriors Item Card gives it and the Lorule Map hammer the same name suggests they're the same thing. You can see here that The Wind Wakers hammer was intended to look a lot more like the artwork from The Adventure of Link or A Link to the Past, but the skull/pirate motif was added later. The part I'm not 100% on is where the Magic Hammer fits into all this given how similar they are, although a Magic Hammer appears as equipment separate from the Item Card in Hyrule Warriors. Tri Force Heroes also identifies it as a "Hammer" in the Japanese version but a "Magic Hammer" in the English version. LTL (talk) 11:46, March 5, 2021 (MST)
:::Looking into it a bit more, I'm almost certain the Hammer and Magic Hammer articles should merge. In A Link to the Past, there's a line of text that just refers to it as the "Hammer" (the hint about using the Ice Rod and then smashing enemies with the Hammer for a Magic Decanter) - this is still true in the Japanese version. I've also checked out Four Swords Adventures text dumps - both languages have a line of text telling to hold the A Button to charge up the "Hammer", and in Japanese there's even several lines inconsistently referring to it as the "Magical Hammer" instead of Magic Hammer. The hammer from A Link Between Worlds is also extremely similar to (if not the same as) the Magic Hammer from A Link to the Past, and maybe aside from The Adventure of Link there's a lot of overlap in terms of appearance and function. The only real hiccup is that Hyrule Warriors uses both names, but I see it as the Magic Hammer being the physical weapon and Hammer Item Card being a direct throwback to the appearance from A Link Between Worlds, where it was known as the hammer, which is also the case with other things such as the Ancient Spinner and Sand Rod (besides, it's not exact to the original games because the Red Ring is also represented as a weapon twice). I'm open to merging Skull Hammer too, but I feel more strongly about Hammer and Magic Hammer. LTL (talk) 09:20, March 14, 2021 (MDT)
