'''Anoukis''' are a race of ice-dwelling creatures found in the games for the [[Nintendo DS]]. They have a mixture of traits from various polar creatures, having the general body shape and gait of a penguin, faces resembling those of a seal, and horns resembling reindeer antlers. They also have flipper-like arms and feet, and are always shown wearing parkas due to the cold. They tend to refer to [[Link]] as "guy" and go on seemingly random tangents in their speech. They are shorter than most other races encountered within the same games as them and consider themselves as better at thinking than fighting. They live in igloos, where they eat stew. The race's name has been inconsistently pluralized as both "Anouki" and "Anoukis."

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass]]'', the Anouki live on the snow-covered western half of the [[Isle of Frost]]. They have a long-standing feud with the island's other tribe, the [[Yook]], which resulted in an agreement 100 years prior to keep to the different halves of the island. The Anouki of the present day do not really know how the feud started, but still fear the Yook as insane, lying brutes. When Link arrives to the island, the Anouki are flustered due to a Yook having snuck over and started impersonating an Anouki. The [[Island Chief]] tasks Link with going to the [[Anouki Estates]] and figuring out which one of the Anouki is an imposter, telling him that Yook always lie. If he gets it wrong, he temporarily earns the nickname "Wrong Boy" and that Anouki refuses to speak to him further. The liar and Yook turns out to be [[Aroo]], the real one of which returns once Link gets through the [[Ice Temple|Temple of Ice]].

In this game, all Anouki have long black horns which are shown as brown in the artwork. All Anouki other than the chief wear blue parkas and are otherwise identical, with the chief having a purple one and long beard. Anouki with houses are also shown to bury [[Rupee]]s in front of their houses.

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks]]'', the Anoukis have relocated to the [[Snow Realm]], where they live in [[Anouki Village]]. They apparently left the Isle of Frost after being told they could not simply "crash there forever," though no further details are given. The village is inhabited by six Anoukis, each with a different appearance. [[Bulu]] looks just like the majority of the ones of ''Phantom Hourglass'', but the others have variations on parka color, horn length, and facial hair. Additionally, an unnamed one in a red parka operates a shop at the [[Snow Sanctuary]]. Due to an increase of monsters appearing and the [[Spirit Tracks]] vanishing, the Anoukis are worried. Their leader, [[Honcho]], tries putting them into pairs to act as guard partners, but due to the others' particularity with their desired teammate's traits, he is having a difficult time. Link helps them, and they begin work on guarding and fortifying the village.

The long horns are black like in ''Phantom Hourglass'', but the short ones are brown like the original artwork, a distinction that carries to an illustration in the credits. However, the icons used to represent them show all the antlers as brown.
