Link climbing up a beanstalk in The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Beanstalks[1] are a type of plant that appear in The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. Many beanstalks are gigantic and are tall enough to reach clouds in the sky. There are five giant beanstalks in the game, and four of them grow when Link fuses a Kinstone piece with a Forest Minish. These beanstalks grow at Eastern Hills, Western Wood, Lake Hylia, and the Wind Ruins respectively. The fifth giant beanstalk grows at the peak of Mount Crenel when Link fuses Kinstone pieces with Melari. By climbing up a giant beanstalk, Link reaches a small cloud area with a few items, usually Rupees or Mysterious Shells. Two giant beanstalks lead to a cloud area with a Piece of Heart.

In Mount Crenel, there are smaller beanstalks[2] which Link can grow by pouring either water or Mt. Crenel Mineral Water on its seed, depending on which type of water the seed is planted in. The sound effect for small beanstalks growing is the same as in Super Mario Bros., when Mario hits a Brick Block that a large beanstalk grows from.
