Only two Birkies appear in the northern corner rooms on the first floor of [[Eagle's Tower]], where they jump around in random directions. If a Birky notices [[Link]], it tries to inhale him into its mouth. If a Birky successfully inhales Link, it spits him out a few seconds later, causing Link to lose a [[heart]]. Birkies are invulnerable to some of Link's attacks, including his [[Sword]]. Birkies must take a few hits in order to be defeated. Link can defeat a Birky by either striking it with the [[Magic Rod]] twice, by throwing two [[Bomb]]s that explode on it, or by hitting it with the [[Boomerang]] four times.
