In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess]]'', Bulblins are very common and important to the plot. They are led by a massive and obese member of the species named [[King Bulblin]] and are first shown raiding [[Ordon Spring]], kidnapping [[Ilia]] and [[Colin]] and stealing [[Epona]]. When [[Link]] gives chase, he gets pulled into the [[twilight]] by a [[Shadow Beast|Twilit Messenger]]. Once [[Wolf Link]] returns to Ordon Spring, a few Bulblins can be found in the woods and near his house. When he enters [[Ordon Village]], it is revealed they also raided the village itself and kidnapped the other children. A few Bulblins are also found guarding the twilight wall to [[Eldin (region)|Eldin]]. After Link finds the children in [[Kakariko Village]], he regains Epona after she rages in and throws the Bulblins attempting to ride her off. Later, a group of them led by King Bulblin kidnaps Colin again when he rescues [[Beth (The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess)|Beth]] from getting trampled. Link then must defeat all of them on horseback.

From here onwards, Bulblins appear either mounted or on foot, replacing [[Bokoblin]]s as the most common humanoid field enemy. When on foot, they attack directly with clubs or at a range with [[arrow]]s which either have a burning cloth on the tip (thus resembling a [[Fire Arrow]]) or are [[Bomb Arrow]]s, though they are not very accurate archers. Sometimes, this type appears on top of tall, wooden towers. When on Bullbos, a handler rides on the front and an archer on the back, and if the handler is defeated, the Bullbo will throw off the archer as well. Ones on foot can be found in Twilight-filled areas, where it has turned them into [[Twilit Bulblin]]s.

A group of Bulblins led by King Bulblin later attempts to stop Link's escorting of a covered wagon containing Ilia and a sick [[Prince Rhalis]]. Link eventually finds their hideout in [[Gerudo Desert]] and attacks it, culminating in a fight with King Bulblin. When he is defeated, King Bulblin lights the fortress on fire, but Link manages to escape by busting through on a Bullbo. While the base is destroyed, stragglers continue to appear sporadically in the desert, as well as in [[Hyrule Field]].

Later, Link finds another group holding [[Impaz]] hostage in the otherwise-abandoned [[Hidden Village]]. During this part, the game encourages the player to be sneaky and snipe them from far away. Many of them are hidden in the uined buildings, so the player needs to stay alert.

Finally, tower-based Bulblins appear throughout the main courtyards of [[Hyrule Castle]]. King Bulblin is fought a final time, and when defeated, acknowledges Link as the strongest side, deciding he no longer wants to be his enemy. Despite this, normal Bulblins will still attack him. During the credits, a few can be seen riding through Hyrule Field with King Bulblin.

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks]]'', Bulblins have a minor role as an enemy that occasionally appears around the [[Spirit Tracks]] to attack the [[Spirit Train]]. They appear in the [[Forest Realm]] and the tundra portions of the [[Snow Realm]], starting to appear once the [[Snow Temple]] is completed. They are always on Bullbos, and either appear in pairs or alone with an additional unridden Bullbo. They may charge at the train or use Bomb Arrows on it.

Bulblins appear in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' on the [[Bridge of Eldin]] stage, where sometimes one on foot follows behind King Bulblin as he rides across on [[Lord Bullbo]]. It can be attacked and defeated. A trophy of them also appears, though it misidentifies their primary direct weapon as a spear instead of a club. Bulblins return in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]'' on the Bridge of Eldin.

In ''[[Hyrule Warriors]]'', Bulblins appear as one of the main troop types. Because of this, they are weaker than in ''Twilight Princess''. Bulblin captains resemble King Bulblin, but smaller and with less extravagant necklaces. Bulblins in [[keep]]s hold large, round, wooden shields, and Bulblin [[summoner]]s wear wooden masks. In the [[Twilight Map]] of [[Adventure Mode]] in the original game and ''[[Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition]]'', King Bulblin himself sometimes appears.
