Crayk, Bane of Courage is a giant grotesque hermit crab that acts as the third main boss of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, appearing in the Temple of Courage. It appears in a dark, ruins-themed room with a dark forest backdrop. Its English name likely comes from "crayfish" (another type of crustacean) and "crack."

During the battle, it sprays a slate-colored mist from the holes on its shell, turning it invisible, while the upper screen begins showing its own view as it moves around the arena. Tiny, baby versions called Crayklings also burrow up from the floor. Most of the time, it simply walks forward, turning every so often or when hitting a wall. If it successfully hits Link, it will briefly become visible, though it will conceal itself again quickly. Whenever it directly sees Link, it begins to charge at him; Link can use this as an opportunity to shoot an arrow into its eye, damaging it, making it visible, and causing it to draw into its shell. It then begins to hop around while slowly spinning and puffing out white smoke. Link can use this as an opportunity to attack the five blue-and-purple-colored lumps around its shell, destroying each and leaving a large hole. After about three are broken, it will emerge again and hide itself, starting the process over.
