They appear on the ceiling of a round room in the basement [[inside the Deku Tree]], falling if [[Link]] walks close enough and hatching into a [[Gohma Larva]] on impact. If Link uses the [[Fairy Slingshot]] to hit them before they fall, they will be destroyed and the Gohma Larvae will not appear. Later in the battle against Gohma, it can lay Gohma Eggs if not attacked quick enough once it climbs back up to the ceiling. In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest|Master Quest]]'', Gohma Eggs appear throughout the dungeon and can be found attached to walls and on the floor, making it easier to target them with [[Navi]] and destroy them with other items like [[Deku Nut]]s. Additionally, a few have been added to [[Dodongo's Cavern]].
