The guards of Labrynna serve as the soldiers of Queen Ambi in The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, appearing as both characters that can be spoken with and as enemies. Blue-armored guards seem to be the most basic ones, appearing as characters in the under-construction Black Tower, Deku Forest, and around Ambi's Palace. Green ones guard the palace, with most walking predetermined paths and looking around occasionally, and others standing still and facing one direction. If one of the ones in the castle courtyards see Link, he will be kicked out immediately, but if one of the ones inside the castle itself sees him, all in the room will make a beeline to him to attack for a half-heart of damage per hit. Due to their behavior, they can easily get stuck running against walls, and after a few hits from any of Link's weapons, they hop off-screen.

Red guards seem to be higher-ranking and primarily appear in small quantities during scripted events. A red one meets Link in the Deku Forest after he finds Mystery Seeds and then takes him to the palace to meet the queen. Later, after Veran possesses Ambi, she summons a group of six red guards to arrest Link, Nayru, and Ralph, but are thwarted by Nayru's time travel warping them to safety. Orange guards seem to be the queen's highest-ranking knights, with one accompanying her in her introduction and providing Link with her bombs as a reward, and later a platoon of five accompanying her at the end of the game after Veran is destroyed.

At the end of an unlinked game, blue guards can be found and spoken to in the castle courtyard, while red ones can be found inside the building itself. In a linked game, the castle is instead empty after Veran's defeat.
