Lives are a gameplay element used in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. Each time the game starts, the player will start with three lives. When Link loses all of his health, a life will be deducted, and if he loses all of his health and there are no lives remaining, the player will get a Game Over. The player can obtain additional lives by finding Dolls that are hidden in the overworld, though only six of them exist and will not reappear once found.
