'''Molgera, Protector of the Seal''' is an enormous [[Moldorm (The Legend of Zelda)|Moldorm]] with a vertical-mouthed, {{wp|manta ray}}-shaped head who acts as the boss of the [[Wind Temple]] in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker]]''. It is a minion of [[Ganondorf]] and is directly responsible for the death of [[Fado (The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker)|Fado]], the [[sage]] of the Wind Temple. Like most of its species, it burrows into sand and leaps from it to attack. It is fought in a massive chamber filled with sand.

When Link reaches its room, it begins filling up with more sand, covering up a platform in the center with the crest of the [[Royal Family of Hyrule]] on it. Molgera then bursts forth from the ground before burrowing back under, and the battle commences. Molgera will attempt to surface from under Link, which is preceded by a rapidly forming dark-colored dip in the sand. If Link does not escape in time, Molgera will bite him and spit him out, with the same thing happening if Link slips into the hole, similar to the traps of {{wp|antlion}} larvae. Link needs to use the [[Hookshot]] to pull Molgera's long blue tongue towards him, allowing him to attack it and deplete a quarter of Molgera's health.

After this, Molgera will begin occasionally spawning trios of larval Moldorms, which leap at Link in a similar manner and may take multiple hits to defeat, depending on the weapon and attack. They can be damaged while they are leaping, though pulling them out of the sand with the Hookshot causes them to flop helplessly and leave them open to attack. After further attacks against it, Molgera will also sometimes fly forth from the ground, attempting to lunge into Link with its wide open maw as it descends, though it does not actually bite him in this case. Once all of Molgera's health is depleted, it flies into the air, turns into sand, and dissolves, leaving behind a [[Heart Container]] as the sand level of the room returns to normal. A monochrome recreation of its battle occurs in [[Ganon's Castle]], just like with [[Gohma]], [[Kalle Demos]], and [[Jalhalla]].

*Molgera's theme music appears in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' for the [[Pirate Ship (stage)|Pirate Ship]] stage and returns in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]'' for use in ''[[The Legend of Zelda (series)|The Legend of Zelda]]''-themed stages in general. Additionally, a variation plays in ''[[Hyrule Warriors Legends]]'' and ''[[Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition]]'' in the [[Wind and Earth Temples]].
*It is possible to repeatedly pull Molgera's tongue further and further away from it until Link reaches the wall. In the original, doing this reveals the tongue to be made up of a chain of indigo-colored spheres which begin to disconnect the further away it is pulled, though this is no longer the case in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD|The Wind Waker HD]]''.
