Nocturns | Nocturns are ghostly inhabitants of the Tower of Spirits, initially appearing on the third visit. They have a similar shape to the type of Poe from The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, but act very different. They are found floating through dark areas and actively avoid light. If Link attacks one in the dark, it merely poofs away for a few moments, attacking after reappearing. They also attack Link if they see him in the darkness. When attacking, they lunge at him while biting, and can only be deterred by moving into a lit area. To defeat them, Link can use the boomerang to spread fire from a lit torch to an unlit one they are in range of, or Princess Zelda can possess a Torch Phantom to bring them into her light. Once they are in light, they turn opaque, shrivel a little, and fall to the floor, completely vulnerable. Once Link obtains the Light Arrows, he can defeat them by shooting from behind. | ||
