'''Pols Voices''' are ghost enemies with large rabbit ears and whiskers. They first appear in ''[[The Legend of Zelda (video game)|The Legend of Zelda]]''. Pols Voices are sensitive to noise, and in many of their appearances, [[Link]] can defeat a Pols Voice by using an item capable of making sound. Pols Voices move around by bouncing.

In their debut appearance, Pols Voices only appear in two labyrinths, [[Lizard]] and [[Lion]]. Pols Voices have unpredictable behavior from jumping around the area in unpredictable directions, even over obstacles that Link cannot get across. If Link gets hit by a Pols Voice, he loses two [[heart]]s from his health. To defeat a Pols Voice, Link can either shoot an [[arrow]] or slash his [[sword]] at it ten times. Pols Voices only appear in two labyrinths: [[Lizard]] and [[Lion]]. In the [[Second Quest]], these enemies appear in three labyrinths, [[Level-2 (Second Quest)|Level-2]], [[Level-4 (Second Quest)|Level-4]], and [[Level-7 (Second Quest)|Level-7]].

In the original [[Family Computer Disk System]] release, the player can only defeat every Pols Voice in a room by yelling into the microphone of the second player's Family Computer controller. In international releases, Pols Voices cannot be defeated from noise due to the [[Nintendo Entertainment System]]'s lack of a built-in microphone. Despite this, the instruction manual still mentions that it dislikes noise.

The method for defeating Pols Voices changes between later Japanese releases due to different hardware. *In the [[Game Boy Advance]] "[[Classic NES Series|Famicom Mini]]" port, the player can defeat every Pols Voice by pressing {{button|GBA|Select}} four times.
*In the [[Nintendo 3DS|3DS]] [[Virtual Console]] release, the player must press {{button|3DS|L}} and {{button|3DS|R}} to select between first or second player, then press {{button|3DS|Y}} to switch to player 2 controller. From this mode, the player can blow into the 3DS's microphone to defeat Pols Voice.
*In the [[Wii U]] Virtual Console release, the Wii U Gamepad's microphone is activated, and it can detect the player making a loud noise.

Of note, they are the only enemy in the game to share Link's palette without flashing between all available palettes.

Pols Voices make their second appearance in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening]]'', and only appear in the [[Bottle Grotto]] and [[Face Shrine]] dungeons. They move around slower than in their previous appearance and can no longer be defeated by a sword attack; like [[Hardhat Beetle]]s, Link can push a Pols Voice back by swinging his sword at them. If Link gets hit by a Pols Voice, he loses a heart of his health. Pols Voices briefly pause between their jumps.

Link can attack a Pols Voice with [[Bomb]]s, the [[Hookshot]], throwing [[Pot]]s at it, or by firing [[Arrow]]s into it. By playing the [[Ballad of the Wind Fish]] on the [[Ocarina]], Link can instantly defeat Pols Voices. This is the first time in an international release where Pols Voices can be defeated by sound.

In ''The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages'', Link can also use the [[Harp of Ages]] to instantly defeat them.

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass]]'', Pols Voices appear in the [[Temple of Courage]]. They greatly resemble their original artwork, but are much larger than Link. They attempt to eat him by hopping over him, showing that their large mouths have six large fangs and take up all of their undersides. To defeat them, the player must make noise into the [[Nintendo DS]]'s microphone, which stuns them and allows Link to attack them.

In ''[[Zelda's Adventure]]'', a Pols Voice appears as a midboss in the [[Shrine of Illusion]]. Using the [[Noise]] spell defeats it. Later, some appear as generic enemies in the [[Shrine of Courage]]. They are all depicted as dark mauve with glowing red eyes and detailed faces based on that of the talking [[mushroom]] from the [[Woods of Findo]].
