(series)|Super Smash Bros.]]'' series, is a recurring song in [[The Legend of Zelda (series)|''The Legend of Zelda'' series]]. It first appears in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time]]'', as a song that [[Link]] can play on the [[Ocarina of Time]]. "Saria's Song" has appeared as a background theme in each of its appearances, especially in forested areas.

=== ''The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time'' ===
In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time]]'', [[Link]] can learn how to play "Saria's Song" in the [[Sacred Forest Meadow]], where [[Saria]] teaches it to him as a symbol of their friendship. Link can play "Saria's Song" to communicate with Saria from afar, and while playing the song, a green light with leaves surrounds Link on-screen. When contacted, Saria provides Link with various information and advice for his journey. If [[Link]] decides not to speak to Saria, [[Navi]] asks if he wants to talk to her instead.

"Saria's Song" plays as the background music of the [[Lost Woods]]. In order to find the Sacred Forest Meadow, Link has to go through a maze where he must follow the sound of "Saria's Song" by walking through the hollow trees where the song can be heard the loudest. This process is not required in order to progress, as the black areas of the correct hollow trees to go through look different from those that direct Link back to the Lost Woods' entrance.

At one point, Link must play "Saria's Song" in order to cheer up [[Darunia]] and obtain the [[Goron's Bracelet]], which is required to enter [[Dodongo's Cavern]]. In the Lost Woods, Link can also play Saria's Song to the [[Skull Kid]] who, in response, gives Link a [[Piece of Heart]] as a token of their newfound friendship. This way, Link can also sell the [[Skull Mask]] to him.

During his adulthood, Link must play "Saria's Song" to convince [[Mido]] to pass his "blockade" in the Lost Woods and enter the [[Forest Temple]].

=== ''The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask'' ===
In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask]]'', there are a few instances in which "Saria's Song" is played as background music. It has the same instrumentation as in the Lost Woods in ''The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time'', and is most prominently heard in the [[Woods of Mystery]]. The song also plays in a scene where [[Tatl]] tells Link how she met the Skull Kid. "Saria's Song" also plays if Link dances with the scarecrow [[Pierre]].

Link can technically play the notes of "Saria's Song" on the Ocarina of Time, although this has no gameplay effect. However, the "[[Song of Healing]]" consist of the notes in "Saria's Song," but played backwards.

In the ending, the Skull Kid alludes to an event in ''The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time'' where Link teaches "Saria's Song" to him; the Skull Kid mentions that Link has the same small as the "fairy boy" who taught him a song in the woods.

After the end credits, shortly after "The End" appears on screen, "Saria's Song" can be heard playing the background.

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess]]'', "Saria's Song" plays is the background theme for [[Sacred Grove]], and has a more melancholic instrumentation than in earlier games. The Skull Kid occasionally plays "Saria's Song" on a multi-horn trumpet during Link's battle against it. "Saria's Song" also plays at the start of the battle against [[Ook]].

In ''[[Hyrule Warriors]]'' and its [[reissue]]s, an orchestral rendition of "Saria's Song" plays during [[Darunia]]'s victory cutscene. [[Midna]] hums the tune during her idle animation, which [[Twili Midna]] also does during her victory cutscene while [[Twilight Wolfos]] howls it.

In ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'', "Saria's Theme" is a song that sometimes plays in the background of the [[Great Bay (stage)|Great Bay]] stage. It also plays in the background while fighting [[Young Link]] on the [[mariowiki:Kongo Falls|Kongo Jungle]] stage in All-Star mode.

In ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' and subsequent titles, "Saria's Theme" is featured in the "[[Ocarina of Time Medley]]" as the last ocarina song that plays during each loop.
