Twinrova is the combined form of the witches Koume and Kotake and thus their elemental powers, fire and ice respectively. She first appears in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Twinrova is the penultimate boss in a few The Legend of Zelda games, including her debut appearance and the Linked Game for The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages each. "Twinrova" is also used to refer to the duo on a general basis while battling. Compared to her split form, she looks much younger, though she keeps the olive skin and graying hair. She also wears a revealing top and baggy pants along with many drapes, and is abnormally tall. She wields two staffs, which are actually her split form's brooms.
The Twinrova sisters, Koume and Kotake, are a pair of incredibly old witches who serve as Ganondorf's surrogate mother. They have elemental powers, fire and ice respectively, and can assume a combined form, also called Twinrova. They along with their fusion first appear in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. While split, the two are identical, being short (but able to scale up their body size) with bulging eyes, long noses, and missing teeth. Both ride brooms and have gray hair which gets covered in their respective element in battle. In the combined form, she looks much younger, though she keeps the olive green skin and graying hair. She also wears a revealing top and baggy pants along with many drapes, and is abnormally tall. She wields two staffs, which are actually her split form's brooms.

In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Sorceress Sisters: Twinrova acts as the seventh or eighth boss, depending on player choice, appearing in the Spirit Temple.
In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Koume and Kotake take on the form of Sorceress Sisters: Twinrova during the second phase of their boss battle in Spirit Temple. Twinrova attacks by either shooting a fire beam or an ice beam at Link. He can absorb their beam with the Mirror Shield, but after that, if Link tries to absorb the opposite beam, he takes damage. When the Mirror Shield absorbs the same element three times, it shoots back at Twinrova, damaging her. She then falls onto one of the four outer platforms, giving Link a chance to repeatedly strike her with his sword. After a while, Twinrova gets back up.

During the first phase, the sisters separately fly around, with one occasionally charging a beam of her respective element, which she shoots toward Link. If it hits Link or the ground, it creates a wide area of fire or ice for a short time, but if he intercepts it with his Mirror Shield, he can reflect it into the other twin, damaging her. After enough total damage is dealt to the pair, they decide to "get serious" and assume their combined form.
After taking enough damage, Twinrova is defeated. She splits back into Kotake and Koume, who begin arguing about their age difference despite being twins, as they float upwards into rays of light. Link is rewarded the Spirit Medallion for defeating the witches.

In the Linked game for both The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, the Twinrova sisters mastermind the campaigns of Veran and Onox as part of a plot to resurrect Ganon. They are never addressed individually, and they always act and speak as a singular entity. Throughout both games, the Twinrova appear to taunt Link at various intervals, often disguised as a single cloaked figure. At the end of the first game, they watch Link, stating that the game's events allowed one of the flames needed for the Dark Rites to be lit, followed by an ominous closeup of one of their faces. At the end of the second game, they kidnap Princess Zelda to offer her as a sacrifice. When Link reaches the innermost chamber of the Room of Rites, the two teleport him to their battlefield and assume their elemental forms. During the first phase, they fly about quickly, with one occasionally shooting an elemental blast, which can be deflected with a sword swipe. Once again, the witches' spells can be used to damage each other. After three total hits are dealt against them, they assume their combined form.

Twinrova alternates between her fire form and her ice form, each having a different attack. If Twinrova is in her fire form, Link must avoid the lava pools that from around the area as she shoots fireballs that split into three smaller ones upon hitting a wall, or summons four Firebats to attack him. If Twinrova is in her ice form, the entire floor is covered in slippery ice, and large ice clusters fly around the room and ricochet off the walls as she sends smaller ice balls at Link. After enough hits, Twinrova faces Link, revealing both her fire and ice side. Link can temporarily stun Twinrova by striking his sword at her enough times, then he can damage Twinrova by shooting either an Ember Seed, a Scent Seed, or a Mystery Seed at her. After several hits, Twinrova is defeated, unable to sacrifice Zelda to revive Ganon, so she sacrifices herself instead. This ends up resurrecting him, but as a mindless beast eager to destroy everything.
In the Linked Game for both The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Twinrova returns as Koume and Kotake's form during the second phase of the battle, which starts after each witch takes three hits.
