They appear as chains of five orange [[Spark]]s, and tend to move quickly along walls, occasionally going straight off the sides of outward corners and changing direction at inward ones.

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap]]'', Firewinders act essentially the same as before, though they no longer share graphics with Sparks. The fireballs are now a double-barred spiral shape. They first appear in the [[Temple of Droplets]].

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass]]'', Winders move much slower and are electric instead of fiery. They are made of a chain of three electric spheres with a black center surrounded by red and green circles, and now follow walls more accurately than before. In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks]]'', Moldolas appear mostly as they do in ''Phantom Hourglass'', initially appearing in the [[Fire Temple (The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks)|Fire Temple]]. The "head" is now larger than the following two segments and they move more smoothly around corners, however. They are used by the player to defeat the [[Heatoise]].

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds]]'', a single fiery Moldola appears in the [[Dark Palace]]. The maze it is in is also dark, with it providing light. For the most part, it acts like the ones in ''A Link to the Past'', though it is slower and the fireballs are smaller. It is one of the only hazards to not be given any name in the English guide.

In ''[[BS Zelda no Densetsu: Inishie no Sekiban]]'', Fire Snakes appear as they do in ''A Link to the Past'', first appearing in the dungeon portion of the [[Lost Woods]], which is the fourth dungeon.
