The Nintendo Entertainment System is the first home console developed and released by Nintendo. It was first released in Japan, where it is known as the Family Computer (also known as the Famicom). The first two games of The Legend of Zelda series, The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, were released for this console. Rather than the usual gray, the two Zelda titles were each released in a gold-colored cartridge.
