Taroses, formerly named Moblin Pikemen,[citation needed] are bull-like enemies that appear in both The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. They have two horns on their head and glowing white eyes. Taroses wear armor which is either blue or red. Blue Taroses wield a staff with a rounded tip, and red Taroses wield a trident. Taroses attack Link by charging at him, and can use their weapons as shields to block Link's attacks. The name Taros is based on "taurus", which is the Latin word for "bull".

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Moblin Pikemen are the Dark World equivalent of Soldiers. The blue Moblin Pikemen are encountered throughout the Dark World, and the red ones are less common and are encountered in Ganon's Tower.

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Taroses are encountered in Lorule. Red Taroses are a lot more common than in their debut appearance. They are stronger than their blue counterpart and require more hits to defeat.
