Arrow Traps are wall-mounted obstacles that act as a motion-sensing, arrow-shooting turret. The arrows can be avoided by moving quick or deflected with a shield.
History
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
In The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Arrow Traps first appear in the Temple of the Ocean King during the 4th visit and onward, where Link must avoid them while riding a moving block. They later appear in Doylan's Temple as some of the many traps present. Eox also has a row of similar arrow-shooters along the lower rim of its face.
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
In The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Arrow Traps look and act mostly the same as previously, first appearing in the Ocean Temple. One room with a moving block platform has an array of Arrow Traps on each wall which only fire if Link fails to hit the nearby Crystal Switches in the proper order.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
In The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Arrow Traps have been redesigned slightly to appear to have angry "eye"-like designs on the turret. They are fairly common, appearing first in the Eastern Palace.
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes
In The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, Arrow Traps look and act as they do in A Link Between Worlds. Sometimes, they are made more dangerous by the addition of fire from a torch they are shot through.
