Sup[edit]

Sooo is everything going alright for you? :) As I reflect on 3 years of Triforce Wiki, I like to think of the hardships & successes alike that got the wiki to where it is today. Nearly 1,000 articles thanks to your hard work! Results May Vary (talk) 04:42, March 9, 2022 (UTC)

I'm doing fine I suppose. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 05:08, March 9, 2022 (UTC)
Are you glad that I left Discord? That's a goodbye to my 200 friends on there though (though can reconnect through other means), lol. Results May Vary (talk) 05:20, March 9, 2022 (UTC)
Can't say I am. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 05:24, March 9, 2022 (UTC)
I don't want to talk about what happened, but I assumed the majority of people would be happy that I set my Discord account to be permanently deleted in about 2 weeks from now. Results May Vary (talk) 05:29, March 9, 2022 (UTC)
Running away isn't how to solve your problems. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 05:39, March 9, 2022 (UTC)
The problem grew so big to the point where it became essentially unsolvable. If I kept talking I was going to risk losing my status and reputation here at Triforce Wiki and all of my friends. Results May Vary (talk) 05:43, March 9, 2022 (UTC)

Bye now[edit]

I decided that I won't (or hardly will be) editing Triforce Wiki any longer since none of you care about me anymore. Enjoy the wiki, and forget that I was ever involved with it or your friend to begin with. May the spirit of Mario Wiki live on. Results May Vary (talk) 02:51, March 11, 2022 (UTC)

Kay Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 05:03, March 11, 2022 (UTC)
Actually I might still edit here a bit -- I'm just trying to cope with reality rn. My main focus for the time being will be Miraheze Gaming Services. Results May Vary (talk) 18:22, March 11, 2022 (UTC)
And I'm actually cool with no longer bein staff here. I remember I founded the wiki to help you & others handle Zelda coverage better Results May Vary (talk) 18:33, March 11, 2022 (UTC)
Good to see you're coming around. :) Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:41, March 11, 2022 (UTC)
Thank you. :) It's a miracle that I'm able to because anyone would be in a bad mood after what happened. Making tough decision to leave Discord (costing me 200+ friends), demotion from like 10 Grifkuba wikis,. I actually like using talk pages -- very wholesome. Results May Vary (talk) 19:43, March 11, 2022 (UTC)

Am I like LTL?[edit]

Have to use talk pages to talk to me :P Results May Vary (talk) 19:51, March 11, 2022 (UTC)

Depends, are you gonna vanish for months on end like him? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:59, March 11, 2022 (UTC)
Possibly. Currently the big thing I'm going to do is a Nintendo Wiki. I added some previously deleted Super Mario Wiki articles there already such as Flagman and Game Boy Gallery (you're prob not interested but I'm just glad the articles can live on in some form). Results May Vary (talk) 20:03, March 11, 2022 (UTC)

Talk pages[edit]

Speaking of which, I also asked something on two talk pages (MediaWiki talk:Monobook.css and MediaWiki talk:Gadget-StaffHighlights.css). On the former it's to fix an issue with the sidebar where only Tools and Search bar have this gold border surrounding them but instead this make so that they all do. Results May Vary (talk) 19:51, March 11, 2022 (UTC)

For Monobook.css talk I gave instruction for how to implement. Results May Vary (talk) 20:26, March 11, 2022 (UTC)
Sorry, just asking another thing: mind adding:
li ul, li ol { margin-top: 0.1em !important; }
dl + ul, dl + ol { margin-top: -0.3em !important; }
ul + dl, ol + dl  { margin-top: 0.3em !important; }

under /* formatting fixes */ in MediaWiki:Common.css? Mario Wiki added this just now & it slightly changes the padding of bullet lists. Results May Vary (talk) 13:47, March 12, 2022 (UTC)

Gaming Wiki Network[edit]

Are you & others (specifically Metalex123) going to protect my founding vision for it and make sure that it does not affiliate with NIWA (I'm talking about GWN specifically, not Triforce Wiki, which NIWA doesn't appear to want regardless)? Hopefully tacopill can still bring up important news that could affect me as an editor. Results May Vary (talk) 21:06, March 12, 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for sticking up for me there. You didn't have to, especially because I don't deserve it after how I acted. I think the thing I was the most angry about was not my forced demotion but rather the concern that it was being enforced from the top-down rather than allowing the communities decide. So like I believe it's fair if it's a combo of both, but I don't the top-down enforcement to override what the community desires, especially because people within my own circles raised the concerns about me. I was told that Grifkuba always sides with the community rather than one person, and I hope they stick to that commitment. I actually ended up agreeing with the demotions because I'm part of the community here & GWN. :) Results May Vary (talk) 05:22, March 13, 2022 (UTC)
You still prolly oughta apologize for the initial outburst, particularly in regards to, ahem, language. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 08:32, March 13, 2022 (UTC)

Screencaps[edit]

Okay so my friend was kind enough to share with me the different vids and screenshots that he's taken on his Switch throughout the months. The Zelda-related ones include Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors, and Age of Calamity. Here's an example of a screenshot that I managed to retrieve. Congrats[edit]

This is Results May Vary (using a proxy). I have heard about "Zeldapedia" becoming independent & came to say congrats (I asked tacopill to relay my personal congrats to Caleb as well bcuz I was friends with him for a while). Keep in mind that I do not plan on rejoining Discord nor do I want to continue editing here (if I were unbanned) or other GWN wikis. And I feel right at home where I'm currently at -- I never thought I'd be so satisfied with where I currently am at.

If ever there were discussion of closing this wiki, it could possibly join elsewhere (I don't want to say with me because then I'd sound like a shill & I'd prefer to not have "unwanted traffic" near the environment where I work at -- perhaps if you reaaaaaaally wanted -- though I do fear subversive intent).

Seeing this proposal is what had me thinking that the existence of this wiki is possibly endangered, and the subject of alternative wikis is very likely to become a debate amongst related circles. You're in an environment where a lot of people do not like alternative wikis, and they are anti-competitive.

I took responsibility nearly 3 1/2 years ago when creating this wiki, was demonized by inner circles & eventually thrown outta there, and now this happens & I'm a footnote of history? People suck.

And yes I strongly regret I was so mean to the person from spring (even tho I don't get along personally) & I hope they're doing ok (it would be unfair to post name, so I'm not doing that). You don't have to unban me, but when I left Discord (when ppl didn't believe that I'd change) that was my best way of proving a difference. 104.216.12.242 11:01, October 20, 2022 (UTC)

Proxy: The Sequel[edit]

Hello, this is Results May Vary using a proxy yet again to send you a message. (Feel free to unban me & mark me as retired because I'm not going to be doing anything here anymore aside from possibly message.)

We have all had major disagreements on stuff, but one huge thing we did agree on is connections between Mario and Zelda... to an extent.

I have an entire framework laid out, as such (but one could say this is my headcanon, but aaaanyway): Donkey Kong is the parent franchise, Mario is the spinoff, and Yoshi and Wario are the Mario spinoffs. The Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Bros. are "related" because the latter has excessive Mario representation and I could list several things with the former but the fact is that Cheep Cheeps are both Mario and Zelda enemies. Sound weird that they're enemies in two franchises? No actually, there's a third one: Yoshi franchise.

The Legend of Zelda has Mario enemies to varying degrees, though not to a Yoshi level. Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, the first Wario game, has its own unique Thwomp variation, Pouncer, just as some of the Zelda handheld games have Mega Thwomp exclusively. I'd advise one to consider the scope of wikis to cover "related franchises" as well.

I still look at the ins and outs of the wiki for a living. I live in the WhosOnline. I saw a talk page on Mega Thwomp (I promise it was not me who started it, I'm still exhausted saving all the SSB content from there).

How is it my business? I don't think it's directly my business, but LTL linked a proposal that I did when I asked for more Zelda coverage. You mentioned how ZW doesn't cover Octolot, Chuckorok, Octoomba, and Rocto. I laid out my franchise hierarchy above, so I think there's two options:

  • If SMW doesn't cover the Zelda enemies, neither should Triforce Wiki on the Octorok variants exclusive to Mario.
  • If SMW does cover the Zelda enemies, this wiki could cover the Mario enemies.
  • Triforce Wiki rekindles its 2019 roots of proud gamer rebellion and covers all Mario enemy variants of Zelda enemies, even if SMW does not.

Literally the same situation. But if you don't want to end up like how I did, option 1 is your safe bet.

Mario and Zelda have the same rights holder, Nintendo, and it literally mentions they have been developed concurrently. Chain Chomps Fire Bars were originally purposed for Zelda before becoming Mario. If anything, I want Donkey Kong back into its own wiki and Zelda as the substitute fourth franchise on a Mario wiki. Banjo and Conker, which are "related franchises" because of Diddy Kong Racing, I could never find a source for B-K/Conker's inclusion for "familiarization" purposes.

People will ask, "what about Mario + Rabbids or Mario & Sonic"? Those are dedicated crossover series. Neither fully Mario/Rabbids nor Mario/Sonic. Super Smash Bros. is also a crossover series, it's just got representation for like 100+ games. Itadaki/Fortune Street is also half Mario. Why aren't we isolating that to just Mario side of things? What if Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 64 had around 50% of its subjects from the Mario franchise. Would the same standards apply to it as well? I digress, however.

So how it goes is: Zelda and Super Smash Bros. bonus coverage on a Mario wiki, Banjo and Conker on a Donkey Kong wiki. Now if you want how I'd personally feel, if I ran a Zelda wiki I'd cover the entire Super Mario mainline series on it due to the concurrent nature of the two series (The Legend of Zelda series, not to be confused with The Legend of Zelda franchise). Because I have right to free opinion, I'm just expressing mine at the moment: wikis do not have to only cover their main subject or franchise, there can be bonus coverage on "related franchises." There are three tiers of franchises in relevance: spinoffs, related, and other; the former two would fit on a wiki together.

Super Mario franchise is not the future: Mario and Zelda is as well as Donkey Kong with Banjo and Conker. I don't play by industry-safe rules designed to cage us.

Sincerely, 108.181.21.229 17:21, August 14, 2023 (UTC) (aka Results May Vary, the real GWN founder)

I plan on covering the MariOctos. Please leave this alone, guy. You know fully well why I let you go: you proved that there's no point in trusting you, because you'll ultimately always be this guy, and all "growth" from you is smoke and mirrors. I really wish it didn't have to come to that, but you were far too much of a liability. Do you know how much of your influence I have (and this site, ie my own pet project, has) had to live down, thanks to all your insane rants, temper tantrums, and pointlessly belligerent actions that would make even Benito Mussolini facepalm? Quite a bit. I may have been the last bridge you truly burned, but even my forgiveness has limits; I think we've been through Jehoshua's recommended 490 by now, and I still cannot trust your supposed goodwill for how you always yank it back. I've tried to simply ignore you, but since you insist on updating anyway, I guess I'll need to say it outright: please go away. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:38, August 14, 2023 (UTC)
Okay then. If that is what you wish, I will say no more. (p.s. I made an error it was Firebars intended for Zelda originally, so I changed accordingly) 108.181.32.61 02:08, August 15, 2023 (UTC)
Adieu. Fare thee well. Again, I wish it didn't need to come to this, but you've forced my hand. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 05:16, August 15, 2023 (UTC)
