Goombas are round enemies that appear in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening and its Game Boy Color port, The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX. They are from the Mario franchise. Unlike normal Goombas, these ones have a smiling expression.
Goombas mostly appear in the sidescrolling passages of both the overworld and most dungeons, possibly referencing the sidescrolling gameplay of the 2D Super Mario series titles.
