The Kingdom of Hyrule, also called the Country of the Gods or simply Hyrule, is a large, divine kingdom and the main setting in most of The Legend of Zelda games. It is the homeland of the Hylian race and is governed by a monarchy, the Royal Family of Hyrule.
The Kingdom of Hyrule guards the Triforce from evil. As a result, the kingdom is often threatened and attacked by enemy forces, usually led by Ganondorf. There have also been many conflicts between its races and inhabitants. The numerous wars in the Kingdom of Hyrule introduced various traditions and legends into their culture.
