The Royal Family of Hyrule, also referred to as the royalty of the Hylia, Hyrule's Royal Family, Hylian royalty, Hyrulian Royal Family, Hylian royal family, Hyrulean Royal Family, or simply Royal Family, is a recurring element in The Legend of Zelda series. Although Princess Zelda is a major character, other Hylian royals are only occasionally seen or mentioned. Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule, King Daltus, and the ancient King Gustaf are a few examples of other royal characters.

Trivia[edit]
- According to Hyrule Historia, the Royal Family was established by descendants of the goddess Hylia—reborn as Zelda in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword—whose bloodline often exhibits special powers and whom many princesses were named after. Additionally, when the kingdom was founded, Hyrule Castle was built in the center of Hyrule near the Temple of Time in order to safeguard the Triforce and knowledge of its existence.[1]
- Also according to Hyrule Historia, the crest of the Royal Family (and, by extension, the kingdom of Hyrule) is the crest of the goddess Hylia incorporating a Loftwing and the Triforce.[1]
