Snappers are enemies that appear in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. They are tortoises, although are presumably named after snapper turtles. They are mainly located in the Woods of Mystery and the Woodfall Temple. Another Snapper is found within a snowball on the mountain of Snowhead.

Snappers attack by withdrawing into their shell and spinning at Link with their spikes extended. Snappers have a vulnerable underbelly, which can be exposed if Link flips it over. He can do this by either using a bomb, the Blast Mask, pounding it as a Goron, or shooting up from under one using a Deku Flower. Link can attack Snapper while it is flipped over. After a few seconds, the Snapper gets back up.

In Woodfall Temple, a large Snapper and a Gekko are fought together as a mini-boss. In the battle, the Gekko summons a large Snapper from the ground and rides on its shell. Despite its size, the large Snapper is largely the same as a normal Snapper. A difference with the large Snapper is that it continues to charge until it crashes into a wall. When Link flips over the large Snapper, the Gekko flies off, and Link can fight it directly. The Snapper lands upright and hides in its shell, waiting for Gekko to get back on. When the battle ends, Gekko turns into a member of the Frog Choir, and the large Snapper disappears.
