In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Link obtains the Paraglider during the main quest "The Isolated Plateau" from the Old Man at the Temple of Time after obtaining four Spirit Orbs from the Ancient Shrines of the Great Plateau. The Old Man offers to trade the Paraglider for an item obtained from one of the Shrines. Though he points out the Oman Au Shrine, Link can acquire a Spirit Orb from any of the four Shrines of Trial on the Plateau. After acquiring the first orb the Old Man will glide to the completed Shrine and request he obtain four Spirit Orbs. After obtaining all four, Link is directed to bring them to the Old Man in the place where the Shrines intersect which is the Temple of Time. Within the central tower of the temple the Old Man reveals his true identity to Link and gives him the Paraglider along with the quests "Destroy Ganon" and "Seek Out Impa" though he allows Link to keep the four Spirit Orbs as acquiring them was simply a test.
The Paraglider allows Link to leave the Great Plateau, giving him access to the rest of Hyrule. Link can use the Paraglider for as long as he still has stamina. Link can ride Updrafts using the Paraglider though the glider is somewhat effected by wind as well. After freeing Vah Medoh, Revali's Gale can be used to create updrafts for Link to lift the Paraglider in the air. The Paraglider can also be used to slow Link down as he falls so he doesn't incur fall damage. Like the Sheikah Slate, Link retains his Paraglider during "Stranded on Eventide" and "EX Trial of the Sword". If Link draws a Bow while Paragliding time will slow down allowing him to aim and shoot in midair for as long as he has stamina though he must be careful as he will fall when he runs out of stamina.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[edit]
In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the Paraglider was introduced in version 1.6.0. It has a high weight stat and a low traction stat, and shares its stats with the Wario Wing, Plane Glider, and Gold Glider. The Paraglider is the signature glider of Champion's Tunic Link, and a CPU-controlled Champion's Tunic Link occasionally uses this vehicle part alongside the Master Cycle Zero and the Ancient Tires.
