In The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, the are three types of Wild Pigs: pink, black, and pink with black spots, none of which are different in behavior. If Link chases after a Wild Pig, it runs from him. Pigs may sometimes dig up items from the ground.

It is possible for Link to pick up a Wild Pig if he sneaks behind it undetected, usually by crawling or by giving it All-Purpose Bait. This is necessary for a minigame where Link must retrieve three Wild Pigs to Dampa on Windfall Island, or to put three pigs into Abe and Rose's pigpen. One of the pigs is also named Link, who becomes Abe and Rose's only remaining pig over time, and is much larger.

Wild Pigs are generally non-hostile, but if Link keeps attacking a Wild Pig, it turns red and repeatedly tries to attack Link until he is defeated. Similar to Cuccos, other nearby Wild Pigs also join in to attack Link. Link loses a heart of health each time he is hit. If a Wild Pig falls into the water, it swim backs to the shore. The Wild Pigs stop chasing Link if he enters the water or another area where the Wild Pigs cannot reach him.

Super Smash Bros. series[edit]

In the Super Smash Bros. series, the first game that Pigs appear in is Super Smash Bros. Brawl. From that game onward, a Pig is shown during Toon Link's victory pose if he wins a battle.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, there is a Trophy and a Sticker of the Pigs. The Sticker is usable by any fighter, and it increases the drop rate of Stickers.
