The kingdom of Hyrule, also called Hyrule Kingdom or simply Hyrule, is a divine kingdom and the main setting in most of The Legend of Zelda games. It is the homeland of the Hylian race and is governed by a monarchy, the Royal Family of Hyrule. Besides Hylians, some other prominent inhabitants of the kingdom include Zoras, Gorons, and Kokiri.

The kingdom of Hyrule guards the Triforce from evil. As a result, the kingdom is often threatened and attacked by enemy forces, usually led by Ganondorf. There have also been many conflicts between its races and inhabitants. The numerous wars in the kingdom of Hyrule introduced various traditions and legends into their culture.

The size and state of the kingdom varies between games. In most games, it is seemingly synonymous with the land of Hyrule, but in The Legend of Zelda, the kingdom is only a small part of the land.[1] Hyrule holds numerous areas of varying climates and geographical configurations. There are also recurring locations within Hyrule such as Hyrule Field, Gerudo Desert, Zora River, Kakariko Village, and Death Mountain.
