Lanmolas are large sand-dwelling centipede-like monsters.

History

The Legend of Zelda

They are found in pairs in Death Mountain and come in orange and blue, with the speed being different. They move in cardinal directions, often several tiles at a time. The segments must b defeated on at a time to destroy them.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Three appear as the boss of the Desert Palace, and leap from under the sand to attack, and can be attacked anywhere on the body. They later appear again in Ganon's Tower. A swamp-dwelling species called Swamola appears as a generic enemy.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

One appears as a mini-boss in Yarna Desert, acting like the three in the previous game. However, the sand is sinksand, and has a hole in the middle. If Link falls into this hole before the battle is over, he will have to start over. Once the battle is over, the Angler Key will drop into the hole.
