Spinies, also known as Spiked Beetles, are a turtle species that appears in several The Legend of Zelda games, starting with The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. They are from the Mario franchise.

Spinies have a spiked shell that renders them invulnerable to Link's attacks. However, they can be flipped over with a shield or other item, exposing their weak underside. In earlier games, they behave similarly to Hardhat Beetles, except they cause damage; in The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, they withdraw in their shell and perform a spin attack towards Link rather than merely crawl towards him.

In the Nintendo Switch remake, a Spiny figure is a prize in the Trendy Game, and can be placed on a stand in the northern household of Mabe Village.
