The net, also known as the Bug-Catching Net, Bug Collecting Net[1] or Bug Net, is an item in the The Legend of Zelda titles, starting with The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. It catches certain things, usually to be kept in a bottle. Most games allow Link to catch things in a bottle without the use of a net.

History[edit]

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, the Bug-Catching Net (Bug Catching Net upon obtaining it in the SNES version) is lent to Link from the bug-catching kid in Kakariko Village. When Link uses it, he swings it in a circle. It can also be used to reflect Agahnim's magic instead of a sword.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the Bug Net is available in Beedle's Airshop for 50 Rupees. It can collect a variety of bugs and other small things. In reference to A Link to the Past, it can be used to reflect Demise's Skyward Strikes, as well as distract him. It can also be upgraded into the Big Bug Net at the Swap Shop.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, the net is obtained from the Bee Guy in Kakariko Village if Link has at least one bottle. It acts like it did in A Link to the Past.
