The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the sixteenth main installment in The Legend of Zelda series, released for the Wii in 2011. Set before the events of all other The Legend of Zelda games, Skyward Sword takes place on the floating island of Skyloft, the surrounding islands, and the Surface below them. Many of the game's mechanics, most notably the sword combat, utilize the Wii MotionPlus accessory to allow for one-to-one movement using the Wii Remote.
An enhanced port of the game, titled The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, released on the Nintendo Switch on July 16, 2021.
