“I grant to you a soldier who has no heart. One who will not falter in the darkness. This soldier who has no heart is your twin image. A shell of yourself that you will shed when your song commands it.”
Igos du Ikana

The Elegy of Emptiness is one of the songs that Link can play on the Ocarina of Time in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Whenever Link plays the song, a statue in his likeness is created. The statue's appearance depends on Link's current form, with the Fierce Deity being an exception as it cannot play an instrument. Link learns the Elegy of Emptiness from Igos du Ikana in the Ancient Castle of Ikana after he defeats him. Link can play this song while standing on a switch to keep it pressed down as he progresses. The Elegy of Emptiness is required to traverse Stone Tower and to solve a puzzle in a room of the Stone Tower Temple.

The Hylian statue looks like a distorted effigy of Link. The Deku Scrub, Goron and Zora statues resemble the Deku Butler's son, Darmani, and Mikau respectively. There can be up to four statues at a time, one for each of Link's forms. The Goron statue can hold down switches requiring a heavy weight, although the Deku Scrub statue is too light to hold down any switch.
