Igos du Ikana is a large, undead skeleton and a miniboss in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. He is the king of a fallen society, the Ikana Kingdom, and is located in the throne room of the Ancient Castle of Ikana, with his two lackeys.
History[edit]
In the boss fight, before Link can fight Igos du Ikana, he must fight his lackeys. While Link is fighting them, Igos sits on his throne, witnessing the battle. Link cannot attack Igos during this part, because if Link approaches Igos, he kicks him off. If Link shoots projectiles at Igos, he deflects them with his hand. If Link burns the curtains, which lets in sunlight, Igos du Ikana reacts in horror.
When both of Igos's lackeys are defeated, Igos du Ikana gets off his throne and starts to fight Link. Besides sword fighting and breathing purple flames, Igos du Ikana can also remove his head, which levitates in midair while chasing Link. Igos can also sword fight simultaneously while his head floats around. If Link is hit by Igos's head, it latches on to Link's face, causing him to lose health. Igos du Ikana's head eventually returns to his body.
Link can attack by slashing Igos until he collapses. He must then quickly reflect sunlight from the Mirror Shield on Igos, who is vulnerable to it, before Igos gets back up. If Link tries to reflect light while Igos is active, Igos either blocks it with his shield or recoils in shock without taking damage. Like his servants, Igos avoids the patches of light areas. Link cannot attack if Igos's head and body are separate.
After the battle, Igos's lackeys start arguing but are silenced by Igos du Ikana, who reminds them that fighting was the reason that the Ikana Kingdom fell. Igos mentions the Stone Tower Temple to Link and vaguely explains that it as a stronghold that none of his soldiers could get to the top of. Igos teaches the Elegy of Emptiness tune to Link, which is required for him to climb up the Stone Tempe. Igos du Ikana tells Link to restore light into the Ikana Kingdom, as the light freed Igos from a spellbinding.
In a scene of the ending sequence, Igos's lackeys are arguing again, to Igos's dismay.

Trivia[edit]
- If Link wears the Captain's Hat mask and talks to Igos, he almost mistakes Link as Captain Keeta but realizes he is Link from his shorter height.
