Bows are a common weapon throughout The Legend of Zelda series and first appear in The Legend of Zelda. They are often used by Link and other enemies. Bows are used to aim and fire projectiles, usually arrows, at targets and enemies. Without any ammunition, Bows have no other use. Like other common weapons, several types of bows have appeared throughout the games.
In the first The Legend of Zelda, Link's bow uses rupees as ammunition. The Silver Arrow is the only special arrow ever used, during the final boss battle against Ganon. Arrows are first used as ammunition in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
