Seahats are enormous flying fish found in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. As their name suggests, they resemble Peahats due to the three propeller-like fins on top of it. Beyond that, however, they do not closely resemble each other, with Seahats being much larger, purple, and resembling a porcupinefish with an anglerfish-like mouth. Seahats are only found on the Great Sea, where they appear in huge amounts surrounding specific islands, flying above the surface. They always watch Link, and when he approaches one, it lowers into the water and briefly moves forward quickly, attempting to ram him out of the King of Red Lions. Much like Peahats, hitting one with the boomerang causes it to temporarily lose its propeller, though unlike Peahats, Seahats will just attack more frantically until it regrows. If the rising and lowering of the waves causes one to be beached in this state, it will be stuck until its propeller grows back, which only takes a moment. Hitting a clipped Seahat with the boomerang again or one in any state with any other weapon will defeat it. Like most other sea enemies, they always leave behind an Item Ball upon defeat.
