Geldmen are large beings made of the sand of the Desert of Mystery. They pop up from the ground and follow Link, similar to Leevers, though they move in quick bursts unlike the slower and steadier Leevers. Despite their size, they are not particularly strong or durable, and as such can be defeated fairly easily.

History

The Legend of Zelda series

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Geldman ALttP sprite.png

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Geldmen are introduced alongside Vultures as the main inhabitants of the Desert of Mystery. They do not appear inside the Desert Temple itself.

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures

In The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, Geldmen appear in the Desert of Doubt and the Desert Temple alongside Leevers, and look and act basically the same as previously. They also appear near Devalant sinkholes, which they can get caught in and destroyed by.

In Tingle's Tower, Geldmen appear in the Mole Melee game in colors matching those of the four Links, and they must hit them with Hammers for points. There is also a black, explosive type that must be avoided.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

In The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Geldmen again appear in the Desert of Mystery. This time, if Link uses the Sand Rod on a Geldman, its whole body will be blasted out temporarily, and it will be shown to have disproportionately skinny legs and red underpants. At this point, it will run frantically, and Link can attack it to gain Rupees.
