The Ordon Sword is a sword that appears in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and is paired with the Ordon Shield. The Ordon Sword has a generic appearance, and its handle is dark brown.

Both the Ordon Sword and Shield were forged by Rusl as a gift to the Royal Family of Hyrule. The Ordon Sword is the second sword to be obtained by Link, the first being the Wooden Sword. The steel from which the Ordon Sword is forged is inlaid with horns from Ordon goats.

History[edit]

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess[edit]

In The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Link was originally tasked with delivering the Ordon Sword to Hyrule Castle. This plan was sidetracked when Hyrule started to become engulfed in twilight.

Some time after Link turns into a wolf and meets Midna, she tells Link that for them to save the children of Ordon Village, she will need a sword and shield. Link overhears a conversation between Rusl and Uli and discovers that the Ordon Sword was placed on the couch within Rusl's house and that they would give it to Mayor Bo if he asked for it. Link digs into Rusl's house and takes the Ordon Sword.

When Link and Midna enter Faron Woods during the twilight, she holds the Ordon Sword in her hands while wearing the Ordon Shield on her face. Midna recklessly swings the sword, although as a wolf, Link is able to dodge it. Because of this, Midna decides that she is unsuitable to wield the Ordon Sword and Ordon Shield, but stows them away for Link when he returns to his normal form.

Link uses the Ordon Sword as his main sword during his adventure up until he obtains the Master Sword. Even so, Link can optionally re-equip himself with the Ordon Sword from the inventory. The Ordon Sword is ineffective during battle against Zant and Ganondorf.

Rusl has his own Ordon Sword, which he uses to defend Ordon Village during the Bulblin attack and when confronting Wolf Link when he appears in the village. Initially, Colin does not want to wield a sword, although at the end of the game, he is carrying an Ordon Sword, indicating that his experiences in Kakariko Village changed his mind on using swords.
