Rusl is a character from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. He is the master swordsman and protector of Ordon Village. He has a wife named Uli and a son named Colin, and together they live in Ordon Village.
History[edit]
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Rusl is first in the opening sequence seen sitting near the Ordon Spring with Link in the game's opening sequence, telling him of the other world that intersects with Hyrule when twilight appears. The next day, Rusl teaches Link the basics of swordplay and gives him a Wooden Sword for the purposes of further practice.
As part of the preparations for the upcoming Hyrule Festival, Rusl forged the Ordon Sword as a tribute to the Royal Family of Hyrule, whom he plans for Link to deliver the Ordon Sword to. However, this plan is interrupted when King Bulblin invades Ordon Village and kidnaps the children and when Link is transformed into a wolf. Rusl sustains severe injuries and blames himself for his failure, but despite this, Rusl still keeps watch over Ordon. Both Rusl and Uli do not recognize Link as a wolf and view him as a threat. Rusl even tries to attack Wolf Link if he gets nearby. He must bypass Rusl to enter his house and take the Ordon Sword along during his journey. When Link returns to normal, he can enter Rusl's house to find Uli sitting next to Rusl, who is laying down and bleeding.
After Link completes the Lakebed Temple, he can find Rusl with the Resistance group in Telma's Bar. It is revealed that Rusl has been a long-time member of the Resistance, and in Telma's Bar, Rusl wears a helmet to conceal his identity.
Rusl is later found in Faron Woods, where he allows Link to use a Golden Cucco that flies him over the Deep Gorge and to the Sacred Grove. If Link comes to Rusl as a wolf, he tries to shoo away Wolf Link as, unlike earlier on, Rusl is not equipped with a sword.
In the final dungeon, Hyrule Castle, when Link gets ambushed by several enemies in the passage with the Big Key, Rusl and the Resistance appear to assist Link. Rusl saves Link by using a hawk to lift away an arrow shot by a Bulblin in Link's direction.
In the ending, Uli is shown with her newborn baby daughter as both Rusl and Colin return to her.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]
