Desperately trying to make sense of the official names of the CD-i Zelda enemies. Contains incomplete info, so beware.

Current Name Proposed Rename (where applicable) Evidence
Abominom TFoE sprite.png
Abominom
Abominan
  • Said in-game by Alora.
  • Spelling is given as "Abominan" in the UK guide, confirming the name link, though the pronunciation is quite ambiguous; it could also be Abominom or Abominam.
Acheman TFoE sprite.png
Acheman
  • Looks are similar to the Acheman sprite/drawing from Zelda II, but no official confirmation on its name.
Arkadai TWoG sprite.png
Arkadai
  • Named in the UK guide.
  • For some reason, the guide refers to the Shutoy Lake Arkadai as a raft? Were there rafts in the area at one point? Or is it bad writing?
Armos TFoE sprite.png
Armos
  • Concept is similar (stone warriors wielding a spear), though there's no official name confirmation and the designs don't look alike at all.
Arpagos sprite.pngArpagos small sprite.png
Arpagos
  • Said in-game by Kulvan. The UK guide of Wand confirms the spelling.
Bago-Bago TFoE-TWoG sprite.png
Bago-Bago
TBD
  • Not sure how the name was tied to this enemy, but they're way too different for any sort of connection.
Boar TFoE-TWoG sprite.png
Boar
Pig (enemy)
  • Named in the Wand UK guide.
Boon TFoE-TWoG sprite.png
Boon
Bee
(maybe?)
  • Named in the Wand UK guide. It'll be a simple move job.
  • The Zelda II Boon and this enemy look quite similar, so it could go either way.
Bot TFoE-TWoG sprite.png
Bot
  • Matches this enemy the most in terms of design.
  • For some reason, the UK guide calls these enemies "Tektites" or "Tiktites", despite the huge design difference between Bots and Tektites.
Boulder TFoE sprite 1.pngBoulder TFoE sprite 2.pngBoulder TFoE sprite 3.pngBoulder TFoE TWoG sprite.pngBoulder TFoE sprite 4.png
Boulder
  • Named in the UK guides.
Daira TFoE-TWoG sprite.png
Daira
  • Looks identical to the Daira art of the time. Plus, the Fish Lady cutscene names the enemy and confirms a link.
Darknut TFoE-TWoG sprite.png
Darknut
  • Matches very well with the LOZ 1 concept art, even if there isn't a confirmation on their name. (They're referred to as "soldiers" in the UK guide.)
Deadite TFoE-TWoG sprite.png
Deadite
  • Named in the Wand UK guide.
Deeler TFoE-TWoG sprite.png
Deeler
Spider
(maybe?)
  • Referred to as "spiders" in the UK guide.
Dodongo TFoE-TWoG sprite.png
Dodongo
  • Named in-game by Link, with the UK guide confirming the name link.
Falling Rocks TFoE sprite.png
Falling Bricks TFoE sprite.png
Falling debris
  • Generic name for these things. No official name in the guides, and they're unlikely to get a unique page.
Fire Daira TFoE sprite.png
Fire Daira
  • Referred to as "fire creatures" in the UK guide, but the Dutch version of the guide calls them "Fire Dairas" (Vuur Dairas).
Fire Stalfos TFoE sprite.png
Fire Stalfos
Stalfos Knight
  • Name appears to be fan-named to match the Fire Daira - no mention of them in the
  • Closest to Stalfos Knight from Zelda II, given their sole sword.
