History[edit]
The Legend of Zelda series[edit]
The Legend of Zelda[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda, heads of Gleeoks detach after being attacked enough. After this, they turn red and begin flying erratically around the room, continuing to shoot fireballs at Link. They can be attacked, but serve primarily as a distraction from continuing to attack the Gleeok.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons[edit]
In The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, heads of Gleeok appear in its boss battle in Explorer's Crypt. Unlike before, when they detach they fly wildly around the room, bouncing off the walls in diagonal patterns, eventually slowing down and floating back to the body to reattach. Also unlike before, they do not shoot fireballs when not connected to the body.
Link: The Faces of Evil / Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon[edit]
In Link: The Faces of Evil, Gleeok launches two of its heads at Link when he arrives at its chamber atop Spearfish Falls. They follow him through the air, biting when they get close, but can be destroyed easily. In Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, the heads guard Gleeok's den in Dordung Cave, as well as the front gate of Dodomai Palace. They continuously move in a fixed path, only stopping to spit out a fireball.
Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer featuring The Legend of Zelda[edit]
- Main article: Gleeokenspiel
In Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer featuring The Legend of Zelda, the heads of Gleeokenspiel continue moving upon being cut, but are still known simply as "Gleeokenspiel" by the game over text. They move one space diagonally every beat, occasionally shooting a ball of electricity at the player character. Depending on what order the bosses are fought, they appear in yellow and green or a tougher purple and red, the latter of which may also be summoned by Octavo during his battle.
