The Water of Life, sometimes known as the Water of life[1], is a health-restoring item which appears in some earlier The Legend of Zelda titles, starting with The Legend of Zelda.
History
The Legend of Zelda
In The Legend of Zelda, the water of life is featured in both blue and red. From the intro, they are respectively known as the Life Potion and 2nd Potion. When used, the Water of life fully restores Link's health. The Life Potion only has a one-time use while the 2nd Potion can be used twice: when Link first uses the 2nd Potion, it changes back into a Life Potion. If Link has a Life Potion and purchases another, it turns into a 2nd Potion.
Link can only acquire water of life from the old women in the various caves, after he obtains the Letter. He can purchase the Life Potion for 40 Rupees and the 2nd Potion for 68 Rupees.
