Staltroops[1] are Stalfos soldiers accompanying Stallord in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. They appear in the boss's first phase, infinitely sprouting up from the sand pit Stallord resides in. Their sole purpose is to block Link's path from attacking the boss with the Spinner; they have no offensive capabilities whatsoever, and crumble while bouncing Link away upon being hit. Each time Stallord is successfully damaged, it summons a small group of them to protect it; they only appear while Link is riding the Spinner near Stallord's weak point, and do not replenish when defeated. After the third hit, the remaining Staltroops are destroyed and the sand drains away, signalling the battle's next phase.
