Captain Keeta[1][2][3], also known as Skull Keeta, is a large Stalchild and the commander of the Ikana Army. Captain Keeta makes his first and main appearance in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

History[edit]

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask[edit]

Prior to the events of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Captain Keeta was the commander of the Ikana Army, who defended the Ikana Kingdom and its king, Igos du Ikana. One day, the Ikana Army lost a war, and Captain Keeta has since been dormant under a bridge of Ikana Graveyard, waiting for someone to awaken his soul.

In the game, Link can awaken Captain Keeta by playing the Sonata of Awakening nearby. After waking up, Captain Keeta tests Link's skill by challenging him to a race. When Link catches up to Captain Keeta, he challenges Link to a battle. When Captain Keeta is defeated, he takes Link up to a Treasure Chest and explains some of his backstory. Captain Keeta then disappears along with the flames which surround the Treasure Chest, which contains the Captain's Hat.

Battle[edit]

During the race, Link must defeat Captain Keeta before reaching the end of a path. Link can temporarily stun Captain Keeta by either shooting arrows or throwing a boomerang at him. This allows Link to catch up to Captain Keeta. Link can equip the Bunny Hood to run faster during the race. Every few seconds, Captain Keeta leaves behind a wall of fire and two Stalchildren. Link must defeat the Stalchildren to get rid of the wall and continue onward.

When Link catches up to Captain Keeta, he must strike him with his sword, starting the battle itself. After doing so, Captain Keeta starts to attack Link directly. He deals more damage if he hits Link than the Stalchildren. Link can continue shooting arrows at Captain Keeta to stun him and attack by slashing his sword at him. After taking some damage, Captain Keeta starts to jump into the air, attempting to land on Link. Link must avoid Captain Keeta's large shadow to avoid being hit. Captain Keeta is eventually defeated after taking several hits. If Link loses the challenge, Captain Keeta refuses to redo the challenge. Link can only reattempt the challenge by playing the Song of Time to return to the previous day and then reawakening Captain Keeta.

In Majora's Mask 3D, Keeta starts the battle by actually challenging him, presumably to offer more context regarding what is happening.
