Maxus[1] is an archer who acts as the miniboss for the Shrine of Fire in Zelda's Adventure. He acts as Warbane's final guard, blocking the path to his room until he is defeated. Maxus walks around a room dotted with spikes while shooting burning arrows from his bow and is immune to all spells except the Gold Necklace obtained from the thirsty child in the Shrine of Strength. The game's manual implies that the necklace once belonged to Maxus himself and was stolen from him by the child.[2] By using the necklace, Maxus is defeated in four hits and the spikes blocking the way to Warbane's room recede.
